Celebrity Poker Showdown is a celebritygame show on the cablenetwork Bravo.It was a limited-run series of five celebrities playing poker. The series ran eighttournaments in five seasons.
In each show, five celebrities played a no limitTexas hold 'emtournamentfor charity. The winners of eachqualifying game won a silver commemorative poker chip and advancedto the championship game. The winner of the championship game wonthe grand prize for his or her charity as well as a goldcommemorative poker chip. Each tournament comprised six two-hourepisodes: five qualifying games and one championship game.
In an interview with TVGuide, host Dave Foley said that a ninth tournament is notbeing produced, as Bravo did not order any new episodes.[2]

Setup, logistics, andpersonalities
The first seven tournaments were taped at the PalmsCasino in Las Vegas, Nevada in front of a livestudio audience. With the eighth tournament, Harrah's Entertainment becamethe 'official casino of Celebrity Poker Showdown.'
When a player is eliminated, he or she moves to the 'Loser'sLounge' to watch the rest of the game. With the move to New Orleansfor the eighth tournament, the Lounge was renamed for sponsorSouthernComfort as the 'SoCo Lime Lounge'.
The first series was hosted by actor/comic Kevin Pollak, andeach episode (except for the Championship Game) was an hour. TheChampionship telecast was two hours in length. Each succeedingseries was hosted by Dave Foley, and all episodes (with oneexception) were two hours in length. Professional poker player Phil Gordon providedthe color commentary for the first seventournaments. PhilHellmuth took over the commentary spot in the eighthtournament.
All the games were officiated by Tournament Director Robert Thompson.Thompson was noted amongst viewers of the show for the catchphrase, 'Shuffle up and deal!'
Several celebrities have appeared in multiple tournaments, andfive have won games in separate tournaments. David Cross won in the first and thirdtournaments; DuléHill won in the second and seventh; Kevin Nealon won in the fourth andseventh; JasonAlexander won in the fifth and eighth; and Michael IanBlack won in the second and eighth tourneys. No celebrity wonmore than one championship game.
The series was produced by Andrew Hill Newman and Joshua Malina.

The first six tournaments were played for a total of$250,000 in prize money as follows:
